Obama Gets Osama

This weekend will go down in history with the most events happening all over the world! A wedding of a royal couple, then a pope is beatified. And now, just a few hours ago Obama goes on live t.v. to announce to the world that a small contingent of American troops killed Osama Bin Laden.

I was on my way to work when I heard the speech over the AM radio. Wow, the hunt is now over. But I hope the battle against terrorist will not wane.

On CNN you can see celebrations happening in DC in front of the White House and also at Ground Zero in New York. It's a comfort there's one less person doing evil in this world.

Beatification of Pope John Paul II

After the Royal Wedding last Friday, today the whole world is watching the Beatification of Pope John Paul II. He is called the "people's pope".

Beatification is one step away from being recognized a saint. PJP II will now be called "Blessed". To be beatified, one miracle is required and this must be verified by the Vatican. Another miracle is required for sainthood.

Email Scam

I got this email from my mom a few days ago...

Hope you get this on time, sorry I didn't inform you about my trip in Spain for a program, I'm presently in Madrid, Spain and am having some difficulties here because i misplaced my bag on my way to the hotel where my money and other valuable things were kept. Presently i have limited access to internet, I will like you to assist me with a loan just to sort-out my hotel bills and to get myself back home because i called my bank for a wire transfer but it has proven almost Impossible to operate my account from here as they made me understand that international transactions take 14 working days to be effective which i can't wait.

I feel so devastated,now my passport and other belongings are being retained by the hotel management pending the time I pay my Hotel bills.This is shameful,I need you to help me with a loan of (2150euro) to pay my hotel bills and get my self home.I will reimburse you as soon as I get back Home.I will appreciate whatever you can assist me with.

It's obviously a scam. But friends and relatives abroad who didn't know her whereabouts here in the Philippines called up to check on her. It was nice that they were so willing to lend a hand. But it was good none fell for it. My mom would have felt bad if one of her friends were duped.

So guys, beware of this modus operandi. Change your passwords regularly.

I don't know what morals he has for thinking what he is doing is right. He says he helped a lot of people. Yes, he helped them think that making a quick buck by joining these kinds of shows, even when already making a fool of themselves, is the best way to earn money. 

Let us all compromise our beliefs and morals just to be on tv and Willie will just hand over money. 

After all the several scandals and two networks, should have known better. But maybe it's not enough. 

The words he said to those people who just voiced out their opinion. He gets angry at people for dissing him when disses everybody else in his show.

We should learn from him. Money is not the answer for everything.

I'm proud and admire the people who made this happen. For those who helped in influencing the government agencies to take action. And also for the sponsors who want to make changes for the better.

It's so sad when people have to resort to this just to earn money. This video is so wrong in so many levels. And to put the blame on only one person is so wrong. While it is obvious that Willie Revillame - again - acted without taste and without thought, we can also blame the parents and family for putting the child in this situation. 

But for me, and this is just my humble opinion, Willie Revillame should use his popularity to help people in a better way. Lessen the ridicule and the crass jokes in expense of the contestants, audience, and even his staff. After all, he is the host and basically the producer of the show. He controls everything (even the money...).

I feel sorry for the child. As a mother, I really feel bad. I don't want to accept this as a way of life. I hope somebody can do something about it.

As for me, I hope talking about it helps.
